Louis E. (Lou) Patton, 87, died Saturday, September 12, 2015. Memorial service will be at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Road, Wichita, KS, Friday, September 18 at 3 P.M. Preceded in death by wife, Ruth Alice Patton; parents, Wilbur W. and Isabelle E. Patton; siblings, Wilbur Patton, Grace Koehli, Andrew Patton, Ruth Baldwin, Wilson Patton, Isabelle Hungerford, Phyllis Hungerford. Survived by children, Cindy (Kevin) Smith and Lori (Daryl) Dotson of Wichita, Steve (Jill) Patton of Lawrence; 12 Grandchildren; 3 Great-Grandchildren. Lou was born in Hubbard, OH and graduated High School in 1946. He served as a Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948. He was a Graduate of The Ohio State University in 1952 where he played football and earned an athletic letter and was President of Delta Chi Fraternity. He started his career working for Burroughs Corporation in sales. He lived in Chillicothe and Newark, OH, Detroit, Evansville, IN and Decatur, IL. He was elected a city commissioner of Newark, OH in 1945 and was active in politics. Moved to Wichita with Burroughs to start Wichita Branch in 1972 as a District Manager. He was a member of Rotary club and Chamber Of Commerce. He also worked for Tandem Computers before retiring in 1992. He received numerous national awards for his business accomplishments. He was an active leader at Eastminster Church and served in leadership positions for 25 years. A memorial has been established with Eastminster Church. Downing and Lahey Mortuary East.
