Tjaden, Midge, 85, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 after a brief illness. Midge was “One In A Million.” She lived her life with class, energy, and unconditional love for her children and grandchildren. She never met a stranger. Even at 85 years-of-age, Midge refused to let anything slow her down or limit her passions. She spent the last years of her life shopping with her daughter, dining out with her longtime companion, Dwight, and traveling to visit her grandchildren. A celebration of life and the acknowledgment of our loss will be held at Downing Lahey Mortuary West, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2. Preceded in death by daughter, Dana Lynn Tjaden; sisters, Dolores Quinn and Eva Caulk, and brothers, Stan Shoemaker and Lawrence Shoemaker. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Dear Darian, I am so sorry about your mother. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I remember your Mom’s good nature and sparkling laugh when you and I were middle school friends and neighbors in Bel Aire. My Mother also had fond memories of those days and getting together with your Mom to help plan/figure out activities for two pre-teen girls. Sadly, my Mom, Dorothy has also passed away, about a year and a half ago. It is so hard to lose your Mother, not matter what age or situation. Let me know if there is anything I can do, even if just a friendly ear, Sincerely, Mary Elliott Hammers

  2. Dear Darian, LuAnn, and Lance: I was so saddened to learn of your mom’s passing. She was always a wonderful, kind person, and I know she loved you all very, very much. I remember what fun she was and the many happy times spent at her house when I was growing up. I’m sure there is a special place in Heaven for her.

  3. LuAnn, It’s sad when one loses a mother, but your life will continue on and bring with it the fond memories of her and how they affected you. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  4. Lance, Darian, LuAnn, Dwight, and Family, Midge was always a second Mom to me. She had a wonderful smile & glow on her face everytime I talked to her. She loved her family, and loved to celebrate life. We are better people with the celebration & love Midge showed us all. Midge is in Heavenly Peace. With Love & Prayers, Drew, Linda, Abby, & Ashley Teinert
