Pittman, Robert Eugene “Bob”, 88, retired plant manager at Rainbo Bakery, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away quietly on May 26, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with emphysema. Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday, May 30, from 6-8pm at Downing and Lahey Mortuary West Chapel. Private graveside service. Bob served as President of Rainbo Bakeries in Emporia, KS, St. Joseph, MO, and Wichita, KS. He retired in 1986 after serving as plant manager in Wichita for 13 years. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, George Raymond and Ethel Marie Pittman; his brother, Raymond Edward; his son, Robert Eugene Pittman, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Bettye A.; sons, Steven C. (Saundra) and Daniel M.; daughter, Dana S.; brothers, Joseph, Jack and Charles; sister, Patricia Lucas; grandchildren, Craig, Rachel (David) and Leah (Erhan); and great grandchildren, Grant, Ian and Dominic. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S Market, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.

My father worked with Bob at the Rainbo Bakery. His name was Bob Butler, some people called him Robert. So many memories of the bakery and all who worked there then. We are so sorry for your loss. pam James
