Witt, Harry O., 84, peacefully passed away Friday, December 31, 2010. Visitation 6:30 - 8:00 P.M. at Downing Lahey East Chapel. Funeral Service 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 909 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67211. Born July 1, 1926 in Decatur, IL to Arthur and Alma Witt, Harry graduated from Decatur High School, and served in the US Navy to the end of WWII and then attended college at the University of Illinois. He and his wife Edna celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2010. Harry had the gift of being able to fix things and a genuine care for other people, which led to his career as the Wichita service manager for Burroughs/Unisys. He loved to cook and serve others and was often seen volunteering at Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active at the Boston Park Recreational Center. Harry is survived by his wife, Edna; children, Jane Joseph Conroy, Debra Thompson and Eric and Lisa Witt; grandchildren, Dr. Melissa Conroy-Swingle and Jeff Swingle, Jennifer and Josh Hanson, Steve Witt, and Sean Witt; nephews, Bill Witt and Tom Witt and niece, Cheryl Popple. Harry will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Elevator Fund. Tributes may be sent to the family via www.dlwichita.com.   1. Dear Edna & Family, I just wanted you all to know how much I appreciated and enjoyed Harry’s friendship. He was a great man, and will be missed by more people than you can imagine. He was very proud of all of his family and would love to share your accomplishments with me. He will be missed by many, but I am sure he is in heaven with our Lord having a great celebration with plenty of great food. God be with you all, and cherish the time you had with Harry O.
