Loren B. Corliss
96, devoted father, husband and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Visitation with the family, 4-6 p.m., Sunday, June 3, Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral Service, 10 a.m., Monday, June 4 at Pathway Church. Loren was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Corliss; brothers, Vernon, Robert and Owen Corliss; parents, V. O. and Dencie Corliss. Survivors: daughter, LuAnne (Mark) Posson of Bel Aire; son, David (Sarah) Corliss of Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren, Emily, Katherine and Laura Corliss, Logan (Kaylee) Posson and Paige Posson. Loren was a 1939 graduate of Labette County Community High School and a 1951 graduate of the University of Kansas School of Law. He was married to Evelyn (White) Corliss from 1954 until her death in 2015. He proudly served his country in World War II as a bomber pilot. His honors included a Purple Heart for injuries sustained when his plane was shot down and he and his fellow crew members were on an enemy held Pacific island before being rescued. A Wichita resident for over 60 years, his employment included Farm Credit, Friends University and Koch Industries from which he retired. His many friendships spanned decades and were noted as genuine and generous. Lorens family praises God for the blessings of his 96 years and the memories of his wonderful, extraordinary life and the love he shared with all. Memorials established with Pathway Church, 2001 N.
