Edith Jane Snyder

Edith Jane Snyder age 79, passed away May 31, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 4, Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Kansas. Edith worked at National Spencer for many years, until her retirement, and rose to the position of Vice President. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Edith also volunteered for the American Red Cross and drove over 150,000 miles across the state of Kansas. She was recognized by two Presidents of the United States for her contributions as a volunteer and her commitment and dedication as a charter member of the campaign in Kansas. She received the Presidents Volunteer Service Award from the Corporation for National and Community Service for several years in a row throughout her volunteer efforts. Edith also was an active member of the West Wichita Welcome Wagon Club and loved each of her card friends dearly. She was preceded in death by parents, Roy and Leah Martin; sisters, Marian Buell and Erma Martin; brothers, Roy Martin, Jr. and Herman Martin. Edith is survived by her three children, Shawn (Fritz) Henning of Wichita, KS, Kevin (Christina) Snyder of Greenbrier, TN and Jeff Snyder of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Megan Gaines, Samantha Snyder, Aaron (Cherish) Henning, Adam (Leanna) Henning, and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memoriam of Edith at the American Red Cross, 707 N. Main, Wichita, KS 67203. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.
