Myron Fred Upton

Upton, Myron “Fred”, 78, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Visitation with the family 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M., Monday, June 4 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral service 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 5, at Vineyard Christian Fellowship. Myron was born in Crossville, AL on June 20, 1933. He was a long-time resident of Wichita. Myron served in the US Air Force and retired from Cudahy and Albertsons grocery store. Preceded in death by parents, Horace and Artice Upton, brother, James Upton, grandson, Carlos Solis, and former wife, Juanita Upton. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Vincent Solis of Newkirk, OK, Diana and Kurt Walterscheid of Wichita, Dolores and Wade Hefner of Newton, KS; sons and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Upton of K.C., MO and Philip Upton of Wichita; grandchildren, Jennifer Telles-Solis, Delano Solis, Antonio Solis, Daniel Solis, Camille Edwards, Valentine Solis Chris Upton, Patrick Upton, Tiffany Dodson, Chantal Hernandez, Kimberly Curtis, Krystle Davila, Mani Ah-San, Philip Upton Jr., Carolina Hernandez, Brooke Upton and Taylor Upton; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Reno of Albertville, AL; brother, Bobby Upton of Boaz, AL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL, 60674.
