Tina Christine Gilbert, 94, was born September 1, 1922 and passed away July 14, 2017. She was the 8th of 9 children born to George Washington Trisler and Dillie (Crippen) Trisler of Oklahoma. Tina, her mother Dillie and sister Dolly, moved to Napa CA. Tina went to work at an ammunitions plant in Vallejo, CA. Her brother, Willie Trisler, was in the service there and they attended local dances together. After the war they all returned to Oklahoma. Her brother introduced her to William “Bill” Clayton Gilbert. They married and had daughter, Linda Joy Gilbert Nolcini and Kansas-born son, Warren Mark Gilbert. Bill worked for Boeing Aircraft Company and was later assigned to different Air Force SAC (Strategic Air Command) bases during the “Cold War”. They moved to Caribou, Maine; Altus, Oklahoma; Bossier City, Louisiana and Wichita, Kansas. They raised the family during those times of moving and helped them experience the different cultures they encountered. They picked potatoes in Maine, cotton in Oklahoma, and ate hot peppers and gumbo in Louisiana. Tina always had a positive attitude about the moves and provided her kids with support. In 1968 they moved to Everett, Washington, for the Boeing Company. Tina worked for the Bank of Everett as supervisor. They loved camping in the forests and beaches with friends. After Bill’s retirement, they moved back to Oklahoma and later to Kansas to be close to their son’s family. Tina did extensive genealogy research and passed it on to their daughter. She is survived by her children, Joy (Byron) Nolcini of Everett, WA, Mark (Pat) Gilbert of Colwich, KS; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.
