Dorothea A. Rindt

Dorothea A. Themer Rindt, 94, passed away on November 27, 2017. She was born to William and Meta Themer in Kingfisher, Oklahoma on February 28, 1923 and spent her formative years in Oklahoma. She graduated from Okarchie High School in 1940 and attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. In 1943 she moved to Wichita and went to work for Beech Aircraft, and in 1945 she went to work at Watkins Inc. until 1970. In 1959 she married Donald Rindt, who had two children, Paula and Craig Rindt. Dorothea and Don enjoyed traveling, they loved beautiful music and were supporters of the Wichita Symphony and Music Theater, and they were also avid Shocker Basketball fans. In 1971 Dorothea began work at Pizza Hut as an architectural engineering coordinator, and she worked there until her retirement in 1991. Dorothea was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church, and she made church activities a lifetime of joyful commitment. She was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church. She loved to help with worship and music by serving on various committees. Along with participating in Bible study groups and ladies’ activities, she sang in the choir, helped with church administrative details, and offered her sewing skills to make banners, and assist the church blanket makers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Rindt; her parents; her brothers, Paul and Bill Themer; her infant sister, Martha; her sister, Pauline Latham; and grandson-in-law, Matt Gaston. She is survived by her children, Paula Terry (Dan) Camden, AR, and Craig Rindt (Liz) Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Lanae Gaston and Dana Rogers (Gordon) Camden AR, and Derek Rindt (Melissa) Valley Center, KS; great grandchildren, Sarah Burleson (Brooks) Little Rock, AR, Reid Rogers, Abigail Rogers, and Brock Gaston all of Camden, AR and Tara and Caleb Rindt, Valley Center, KS; brother, Arthur Themer, Kingfisher, OK and sister, Marie Pray, Dallas, TX. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Reformation Lutheran Church. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
