Neil Hamilton Sikes

Neil Hamilton Sikes, 85, Retired Geologist, died Thursday, April 26, 2018. Memorial Service will be at 1:30 pm, Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Pauline Sikes; brother, Noel Sikes. Survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Sikes; daughters, Melody Sikes of Dallas, TX, Cynthia S. Yorkin of Los Angeles, CA, Marla Sue (Dr. Scott) Propeck of Overland Park, KS; sons, Neil Sikes, Jr. of Victoria, TX, Tad (Jeanie) Sikes of Kansas City, KS; brother, Paul (Beverly) Sikes of Ft. Worth, TX; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. Neil played basketball at and graduated from Lubbock High School in Lubbock, TX. He went on to play football at and graduate from Coffeyville Junior College before playing football at and graduating from Wichita State University. He graduated with a degree in geology and then owned an independent oil company. He was a Mason with the Albert Pike Lodge and a member of the Midian Shrine.
