Robert Bob Turkot

Robert Bruce "Bob" Turkot, Sr. 73, June 7, 1943 - June 5, 2018. Bob was born in Oak Park, Ilinois, to Matthew and Alice Turkot and married Luanne Catherine Haupt on July 16, 1966. He was a fun and loving husband, father and grandfather. Bob was talked into "the trucking business" by his father-in-law, Norman Haupt, and energetically sustained a 43-year career with many companies, starting with Haupt Contract Carriers, a lengthy stay with Schneider National, and several others along the way. He and his family made home in many midwest towns across those years: Wausau, WI, LaSalle and Plainfield, IL, Green Bay, WI and Wichita, KS. Preceded in death by parents, Matthew and Alice Turkot. Survivors: wife, Luanne; son, Robert (Britt) Turkot, Jr. of Hillsboro, OR; daughter, Deborah (Charles) Pearcy of Coal City, IL; grandchildren, Morgann and Ella Turkot of Portland, OR, Justin (Alexa) Pearcy of Braidwood, IL, Kristen (Joel) Scheuerlein of Duluth, MN; brothers, Alan (Patricia) Turkot of West Chicago, IL and Thomas (Deborah) Turkot of Barrington, IL. He was loved and will be fondly remembered by his many friends and relatives. There will be a Funeral Mass at 10am, Saturday, June 9 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Wichita, KS.
