Clark, Mildred V. Monty “Mickey”, 87, mother and homemaker, went to be with her Lord, Friday, June 6, 2008. Rosary 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, June 10 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Visitation with the family will be before and after the Rosary. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 11 at All Saints Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, parents, Fred and Elizabeth Monty, brothers, Wilfred, Bob and Melvin and sister Armeline. Survivors: daughters, Susan (Maurice) Bois of Benson, AZ and Shirley (Randy) Moon of Wichita; son, Michael (Janet) Clark of Wichita; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Mickey was born July 28, 1920 in Newton, KS and graduated from Mt. Carmel Academy in 1938. She married Tom, April 28, 1942, shortly before he went to serve in Alaska during WWII. During the war, Mickey worked as a draftsman at Boeing, Wichita. After the war, they started a family and she found the ultimate joy in being a full-time, stay-at-home mom. She participated in just about any activity she could involving her children and her church. A brownie, girl and cub scout leader, parish choir member and altar society were just a few of her activities while raising her children, as she showed all the love and affection any person could possibly give. When her children were grown she cherished the moments she could spend with her grandchildren, showing them, as well, the love and caring only grandmothers can. We will miss her, and give thanks to the Lord for the wonderful times we had with her, the values she bestowed upon us, and the selfless love she gave just doing her job as MOM. Memorials to: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202 and Via Christi Hope, 2622 W. Central, Wichita, KS, 67203. Rosary 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, June 10 at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Visitation with the family will be before and after the Rosary.

  1. this message is for mickey’s daughter,Susan. My mother sent me your mom;s obit and I was very sad. It also made me think of all the good times we had in girl scouts and all the sleep overs at your house and the boyfriends. She was a good role model all those years and I know you were proud of her. I miss those times, I’m living in Arkansas now but still visit Wichita. Love to all your family . Donna McDaniel Garcia
