Carel Lois Golden

Golden, Carel Lois, 68, was born in Wichita on April 22, 1944, and passed away June 6, 2012. Carels Memorial service will be 10:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East, followed by graveside service at the Rose Hill Cemetery. She graduated from Wichita Southeast High School before attending Emporia State Teachers College, where she studied theater. She married James Golden on May 26, 1963, and two years later was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The couple lived in Emporia, Wichita, and Topeka before moving to Rose Hill in 1976. She earned an Associate of Science degree from Butler County Community College in the 1980s. Carel is preceded in death by her parents Gomer and Catherine Jones. She is survived by her beloved husband James Golden, sons, Loren Golden (Angela) and Sheldon Golden, daughter, Ginger Golden, granddaughter, Katherine Grace Golden, brother Herbert Jones (Kay), sisters, Cathy Parsons and Nancy Jones, six nephews, and one niece. Despite a lifetime battle with M.S. and other health complications, Carels positive attitude and playful spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
