Robert E. Bob Ford

Robert E. “Bob” Ford, 102, Retired Engineer, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015. Bob was a life-time resident of Wichita and a proud father and grandfather who enjoyed friendships with young and old alike. Beginning at age 95, he volunteered his time at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School sharing fun activities from his past with the students. Bobs family is thankful that he retained his mental capacities and for all the wonderful friends and neighbors who showed him much love and kindness during his later years. Preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve; daughter, Patti Lou Ford; grandson, Michael Hayden. Survived by his sons, Robert “Robbie” (Pat) Ford of Wichita, Dennis (Lynn) Ford of Green Valley, AZ; daughter, Carolyn Hayden of Delray Beach, FL; grandchildren, Jason, Brady and Greg Ford, Stephanie Ricer, Kristin Blanco, Lindsay and Shelley Hayden; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Ricer, Rae and Max Blanco. A memorial service will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. A memorial has been established with St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. Downing and Lahey Mortuary East.
