Baird, Marvin R., 82, retired rural letter carrier, passed away at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wednesday, February 23, 2005. Marvin was born September 14, 1922, in Wichita, KS, the son of Paul and Eula Baird. He was a loving husband, father and grandad. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and the Korean War. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joy, of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and David Martin, son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Donna Baird, daughter, Mary Copeland, brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Billie Baird and grandchildren, Eric, Philip and Elizabeth Martin, Timothy and Ashley Baird, and Danny Copeland. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M., Friday, February 25 and the service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 26, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Interment will be at Old Mission Cemetery following the service. A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202. Visitation 6:00 ~ 8:00 P.M., Friday, February 25, Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
