Cole Edwin Hartung

October 31, 1984 ~ February 23, 2017
Cole Edwin Hartung, 32, formerly of Winfield, died Saturday, February 25, 2017. Memorial Service, 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, Downing and Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 W. Maple in Wichita. A reception will follow. Cole was born October 31, 1984, in Winfield. He graduated high school in 2002 and had several jobs, usually in construction. He liked to work with his hands and had a talent for woodworking. He would spend hours in the garage making furniture from recycled lumber. More than anything, Cole enjoyed being a father to his two sons, Bryson and Hayden, whom he loved very much. He spoke often of his pride for them and the fine young men they had become. Cole deeply valued his relationship with family and friends, had an inquisitive mind, and loved to read. He loved nature and the outdoors and relished every opportunity to visit his great-uncles farm. Preceded in death by grandparents, Robert and Norma Hartung and Mather and Florella Hankins. Survivors: sons, Hayden and Bryson Hartung-Williams both of Hesston; father, Robert Hartung, Jr. of Winfield; mother, Cindy Beck (Ken) of Hesston; brothers, Robert Hartung III, Zavier Hartung and Ehan Hartung all of Wichita. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on behalf of Cole Hartung, c/o Valley Hope Rehab Center Patient Assistance, P.O. Box 956, Moundridge, KS 67107.
