Herman A. Osment

Osment, Herman A. “Jim,” 89, retired Advertising Executive, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 12, 2015, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Born in Wichita December 11, 1925, Jim graduated from East High School and joined Beech Aircraft in 1944, took leave to serve in the U.S. Army during WWII and returned to Beech before graduating from Wichita University in 1951. Jim held supervisory positions in several departments before retiring from Raytheon, as General Director of Advertising, in September 1987, He was a member of Mensa and Intertel, taught ballroom dancing in the 40s and 50s and participated as a community volunteer for over 20 civic organizations. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine “Jerry” Osment; daughter, Jill (John) Lokke of Wichita; son, Jeff (Carolyn) Osment of Jay, OK; 5 grandchildren, Philip Reimer, Emily Royal, James Reimer, Lauren Osment, Ryan Osment.
