Belcher, Larry W., 64, died Monday, February 25, 2008. Visitation with the family, 6-8 P.M., Friday, February 29, Downing Lahey West. Service, 1 P.M., Saturday, March 1, Goddard United Methodist Church. A graveside service will follow at 3 P.M., Walnut Hill Cemetery, Kingman, KS. Born June 23, 1943 in Kingman to Clarence and Mildred (McClure) Belcher. They preceded him in death. Larry graduated from Kingman High School in 1961 and attended Oklahoma Christian College. He was a 29-year employee of Kansas Human Resource Department (HRD), serving as Office Manager at the Wichita location for the last 20 years. Larry was diagnosed with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy in 1988 and retired in 1999. Soon after moving to Wichita in 1979, he became a member of West Wichita Optimist Club and served on the Goddard School Board form 1989 to 1993. Survivors include wife, Marilyn, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Jim Nottingham of Wichita, Michelle and Jason Smajda of Lenexa; grandchildren, Joshua and Caleb Seagraves, Aidan and Ellie Smajda; sister, Naomi Schuckman; brother, Roland Belcher, both of Kingman.
