Duane and Joyce had many wonderful adventures I enjoyed being a part of in the Colorado Mountains where we run our Jeeps on beautiful trails. Duane always commented on the beauty God provided. I will miss him but never forget him. DOZER
First of all, I am so sorry to about the passing of Duane. My heart is breaking for Joyce, Sharon, Mike, Denise and family. He was wonderful husband and father.
He was a source of great joy for me growing up, and I have many memories that I will forever hold in my heart. I have always wondered how two such opposite men (my father and Duane) could become life long best friends, but I am so grateful that they did, for my life is way richer having known Duane. He was like a second dad to me.
Duane will be entertaining the heavens with his infectious smile and his wonderful stories. I will miss him.
My love to all of the Hurtig family.

Duane was a joyous man and that joy was contagious. He loved to tell stories and he loved to go jeeping with friends. He enjoyed fishing and also just sitting around the RV park in the evenings visiting with everyone. We will miss his company, his funny e-mails, his sense of fun and adventure.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Joyce and family. But Heaven is a little brighter today and I can picture Duane standing with St. Peter greeting us when we get there.
A wonderful very special man with an amazing zest for life. It was always a special memory to spend time with Duane and Joyce. He will forever hold a special place in our heart.
We got acquainted with Duane & Joyce many years ago at Four Seasons RV Campground in Salida, CO & renewed our friendship every summer for several years. We enjoyed his navigation skills while riding with them on old mining trails & visits to ghost towns. We loved listening to his stories & his zest for life. Good bye old friend. Please leave a light on in Heaven. Well be seeing you again.
Doug and I are so sorry to hear of Duanes passing. We always enjoyed running into Joyce and Duane over the years and catching up. Mike, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. In gods speed. Michelle and Doug Ballard
We will always remember Duane on that mountain or the bluebonnet fields below and all the great times we shared. We will miss our friend so much and his zest for life, fun and the pursuit of happiness but most of all his love of his savior, Jesus Christ. You have climbed that mountain one final time, my friend and were welcomed with arms wide open, a big smile on your face.
Our prayers are with Joyse, Denise, Mike, Sharon and families as they will miss you dearly.
Fly high, friend!
To Joyce and family, I was always proud to call Duane my friend. We had so many good times together in our younger days that when we reminisced about it, we would laugh and say it was a good thing we didnt get tooted at the same time. Duane was one of the finest men I had the privilege to know and love. He was an inspiration to me because of his faith in God and the way he lived it. Thank you for helping me find meaning in life and how to live it to the fullest. We will miss your smile and laughter. PEACE
Duane was one of a kind of a person, the kind anyone was lucky to have as a friend. He was always a joy to visit with and will be missed by all who were lucky to have known him. My only regret is that I thought of visiting him and Joyce or calling to check in on him during the past month and did not do so. My thoughts are with Joyce and family. Patti Garnett
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Joyce, and your family. We loved Duanes stories, and he loved to tell them! We feel blessed that our paths crossed. It was not possible to be in a better mood after you visited with Duane, he loved life and gave it his all. He loved the Lord, his family, his friends, and his church. You cant do any better than that.
Joyce and family. So very sorry to read of Duanes passing this morning. My mom (Elise Muth) worked with him and enjoyed their conversations. Berry Tractor had some great people working there at the time of the “oldies”. He will be greatly missed. Live with your memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Another one of those great Berry Tractor guys is gone. Dad (Ves Cox) and I went hunting with Duane and MIke several years, and he was one of those guys at Berrys I always knew, and was always friendly.
Duane was a great trip organizer! This is a trip he planned for us to Crested Butte, CO. He surely did love flowers, especially Colorados beautiful blue lupine.
Duane was a very dear friend, we enjoyed be with him in Salida Co. in the Summer. Duane, you will be missed.
Sharon and Family,
Reading about your Dads wonderful life in the paper yesterday brought back many special memories from our childhood on Lynhurst street! Your dad was always so friendly and welcoming to our family. I loved his laugh and big smile! Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as you have memorial service to celebrate your DADs LIFE.
Please say Hi to your mother for me… My mother went to Heaven last Sept at 91 and my dad 3 years ago at 93… They lived long full lives for sure. We remember fun times during our school years and fun on our street growing up with your family!

Joyce and family, So sorry to hear that Duane has passsed. So many memories to reflect on. The one thing that sticks out the most is his smile. He had that mischievous but genuine and caring gleame in his eyes and smile that were very inviting. He was friends with my dad and I always got the inside scoop in a very humorous respectful way.
