Prechtel, Margaret C., 85, homemaker, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Memorial service 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 7, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Preceded in death by husband, John and daughter, Margaret. Survivors: son, John E. Prechtel, II (Leslie); grandchildren, Adam Magnum, Abbie Smith, John E. Prechtel, III and Victor Prechtel; great-grandson, Logan Smith. A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association, 3816 Paysphere Circle, Chicago, IL 60674.

I met Margaret when her daughter, Margaret, and our son, Glen, were attending SouthEast High School. We moved and came back in 1970 when I became a member of a bookclub to which Margaret belonged and we became better acquainted and friends. Lots of memories for me. My sympathy to all her family.
