Adkins, Marlene A. (Marlene Ann Smith), 75, departed this life on Thursday, September 28, 2006. Memorial service, 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 3, Harvest Community Church. Marlene was born in Leon, Kansas on July 23, 1931 to the late Paul and Cynthia Smith. She was also preceded in death by husband, Robert S. Adkins and brother, Jack Smith. Marlene is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bill Simon of Skagway, AK; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Shannon Adkins of Plano, TX; twin sister, Arlene Johnson of Wichita; granddaughters, Traci Cone of Wichita, Marsha Drake and Lisa Adkins, both of Plano, TX; 5 great-grandchildren. Memorials established with Kansas Food Bank, Food 4 Kids Program, 806 E. Boston, Wichita, KS 67211 and Harvest Community Church, 8340 W. 21st, Wichita, KS 67205. Downing and Lahey Mortuary West.
