Wayne Joseph Linnebur 89, of Colwich, Kansas, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Wayne was the retired owner of Valley Feed & Seed, Inc., Andale Co-op merchandising manager and Army veteran. He was born July 6, 1929, in Colwich, Kansas, to the late William B. and Alvine (Messerschmidt) Linnebur. He married Luella M. Boor on September 26, 1953, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colwich, Kansas. They were married 65 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather to his family and had a wonderful sense of humor which he shared with others. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. Wayne was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #9510, a member of Sacred Heart Parish for most of his life, then Resurrection Parish in recent years. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rev. David W. Linnebur; brothers, Donald Linnebur (Birdella), Rev. LeRoy Linnebur, and sisters, Juanita Mohr (Mike) and Helen Youngers (John). Survivors: his wife; sons, Daniel J. Linnebur (Dana) of Colwich, Kent G. Linnebur (Lori) and Rodney J. Linnebur (Lois) of Wichita; daughters, Rebecca J. Silke (Tim) of Omaha, NE and Lynda L. Hermes (Raphael) of Goddard. Wayne was blessed with thirty grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and expecting two more great-grandchildren this year. He is also survived by sisters, Sister Mary Ruth (Dorothy) Linnebur, SSM (Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother) of Oshkosh, WI and Mary Youngers (Norman) of Kingman. Rosary, 5 p.m., Sunday, February 3; Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 4, both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colwich KS. Memorials established with Sacred Heart Church Renovation Fund; Priest Retirement and Seminarian Education Fund and Birthline of Wichita. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.
