Elizabeth Blanche Swinson

Swinson, Elizabeth Blanche, 87, retired school teacher and psychologist from Wichita Public Schools for over 35 years, died Sunday, February 26, 2012. Memorial service 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 3, at Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Elizabeth was born on July 3, 1924 to Abraham and Leah Gates in Belpre, Kansas. She attended Wichita schools, graduating from East High School in 1942. She also graduated with a B.S. and M.S. in Elementary Education from Wichita State University. She obtained additional accreditation as a school counselor and school psychologist. Elizabeth married Bob R. Swinson on December 2, 1945. Survivors: son, Bob Stanley Swinson (Natalie); grandson, Robert S. Swinson; granddaughter, Sarah Arnold; sisters-in-law, Marlene Ford and Maribel Ford; several nieces and nephews.
