Wilma Finn

Finn, Wilma, 96, Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother passed away June 12, 2014. She was born in Chapel, NE and was the daughter of Fred and Bertha Chichester. She attended Wayne State Teachers College and worked as a teacher prior to marrying Leo Finn (deceased) in 1939. They were married for 65 years. She is survived by her seven children: Richard (Tanya) and Tom (Denice) of Kansas City, Jane of Greenwich, CT, Patrick (Rose) and John (Linda) of Wichita, Rosemary of Dallas and Natalie (Steve) Groff of Chandler, AZ. She had 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was active in Nebraska Club, Mothers Club and the Altar Societies of Blessed Sacrament, Magdalen, St. Thomas and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Churches. She was very proud to have been an eighth generation member of the Mayflower Society. Wilma was an avid bridge player and played until very recently. She was most concerned about the plight of hungry children and the foundation she supported is Unbound. Donations in lieu of flowers to Unbound (www.unbound.org), 1 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103, would be Wilmas wish. Rosary will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. Downing Lahey East Mortuary.
