Richard K. Dick Blide

March 9, 2019
Richard “Dick” Blide, 86, died Saturday, March 9, 2019. He was a quiet, sensitive man whom everyone loved. His smile lit up every room and people felt an immediate comfort when talking to him. He grew up in Downs, Kansas where he and his brothers, Keith and Clyde, captivated the town.
His smile and personality captured Wilmas heart and they were married in 1958. Together they built a life in Wichita with their children, Russell and Jeanette, and granddaughter, Shelby. Dicks largest heartbreak was losing Russell to cancer in 1978.
Dick was a Navy man, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the simple things in life like a McDonalds cheeseburger and chocolate chip cookies. He loved helping others, tinkering around the yard and house, and spending time with family and friends.
He was “the salt of the earth” and he will be deeply missed.
