Thomas C. Brake

Thomas C. Brake, died Friday, April 5, 2019 at his home in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 88. Thomas was born June 14, 1930 in rural Kinsley, KS to Joseph and Mathilda (Hirsh) Brake. He graduated from Windthorst High School and then attended Conception Seminary, Conception, Missouri. Thomas came back to work on the family farm and dairy in Kinsley, Kansas for several years before moving to Wichita, Kansas. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he participated in the choir. He loved old cars and especially working on his 1954 Kaiser Manhattan. He also enjoyed building a model train set. Thomas is survived by a sister, Dorothy Brake, Wichita, Kansas; brothers, Melvin Brake, Kinsley, KS, Leander Brake, Wichita, Kansas, Mark (Glora) Brake, Kinsley, Kansas; sister-in-law, Maxine (Wilfred, deceased) Brake, Wichita, Kansas; along with many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wilfred Brake. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Monday, April 8, 2019; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 9, 2019, both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm at St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery, Kinsley, KS. A memorial has been established with St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford, Wichita, KS 67206.
