Glenn Rex Wiseman, 80, of Wichita, Kansas, died Fathers Day, June 16, 2013. Glenn R. Wiseman was born on a farm in rural Cherokee County, Kansas, on March 27, 1933. Following the death of his father, Frank Wiseman in 1946, his mother Marie, his sister Dorothy and Glenn moved to Oswego, Kansas. After a tour in the United States Navy, he enrolled at Pittsburg State University. While there he met and married Mary J. Shaw on April 10, 1955. Following graduation, he accepted a position as an Internal Revenue Agent in Wichita. After retiring from the IRS, he worked for approximately 5 years as a Pension Analyst for Foulston-Siefkin, LLC. He was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where Mary and he were charter members (established in 1959). He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW and several related organizations. He enjoyed playing bridge and socializing in various bridge clubs. Glenn was a wonderful husband, son, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by 3 daughters, Valerie A. Wiseman, M.D., husband, Tom Smith and their 3 sons, Sean, Glenn and Jack of Avon, Connecticut, Victoria Kindel, M.D., husband, John and their 3 sons, Simon, Oliver and Elliot and Vanessa M. Harshberger, husband, Steve and their 3 children, Seth, Stephanie and Steven all of Wichita; sister, Dorothy Edmonds, Larned, Kansas and several nieces and one nephew. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary, on April 29, 2011, and his parents, Frank and Marie Wiseman. The Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, and the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
