Virginia (Lawrence) Linblade

Lindblade, Virginia (Lawrence), 94, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009. Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2009 at East Heights United Methodist Church. In 1936, she was the first to graduate from Wichita State in the Performing Arts with a degree in piano and organ. She was the church staff organist at various Methodist churches in Wichita, Oklahoma City, and Denver. Virginia was a member of P.E.O., American Guild of Organists and United Methodist Womens Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herald, brothers, Foster, R. Eugene, John and Robert (Bob) Lawrence and sisters, Helen Throckmorton, Margaret Agan, and Mary McCann. Surviving: sons, Larry (Sylvia) Lindblade of Eudora, KS and David (Carole) Lindblade of Olathe, KS and grandchildren, Kristopher Lindblade, Paul Lindblade and Laura (Dan) Eakin and numerous loving nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
