Wilson, Caroline Cook, born August 2, 1924 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Arthur and Marietta Cook, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010. Preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Charles E. Wilson. Caroline grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Massachusetts General Hospital as a Registered Nurse. In 1947 she married Charles E. Wilson who was in the Armed Forces stationed in Massachusetts. They went on to be stationed in Alaska and Germany and retired in the Washington, DC area. Caroline worked as a Registered Nurse at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and later retired from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She moved to Wichita, Kansas in the 1980s and went on to obtain her BS in Womens Studies at the age of 80 from Wichita State University. She was the founder and past president of the Society of Military Widows Chapter #28 in Wichita. She is survived by daughters, Cynthia (Charles) Geer and Christopha Wilson; son, Charles E. Wilson, Jr., and grandchildren, Jason Smith, Evan Worthington, Adam Worthington, Kimberly Geer-Smith, Michelle Geer, great-grandson, William Smith and great-granddaughters, Charley Smith and Baileigh Geer-Smith. Graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
