Altergott (Gott), James E., 44 passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, at his home in Chicago after a long illness with Alex-Brown Dog at his side. Memorial service 1:00 PM Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 E. Douglas, Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Jim was an Eagle Scout, graduate of Southeast High and also attended Wichita State University. He was Owner and President of Ergon High Tech Systems. Designing, installing and managing computer, phone and security systems. Jim had a great many interests and hobbies. Among them, sailing, cycling, skiing, music, philosophy/politics, the arts, electronics and spending time with his best friend, “Alex-Brown Dog”, his Chocolate Lab. Survivors include, parents, Dr. Ross and Sandra Padgham; father, James E. Altergott; brother, Douglas (Beth) Altergott, niece and nephew, Carley and Ethan Altergott, all of Wichita; sisters, Jane (Chris) Volke, of Houston, TX, Leslie (Rick) Brown, of Independence, MO, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorials have been established with Grace Presbyterian Chancel Choir, 5002 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67208 and Midwest Labrador Retriever Rescue, PO Box 1473, Lombard, IL 60148. I went to high school with ‘Apple’ and he was one of the nicest guys. The last time I saw him was at our reunion and he was happy, successful and still super funny. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
