91, retired business owner, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018. Rosary, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 28; Funeral Mass, 11 a.m., Friday, June 29, both at St. Jude Catholic Church. Survivors: wife, Berneice; daughter, Janice Payne (Jerry) of Wichita; sons, Steve Hermann of Palm Springs, CA, Rick Hermann and Max Hermann (Missy) all of Wichita; daughter, Rox Hermann (Shonda) of Wichita; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Calvin was born in 1927 in Alta Vista, KS. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served 7 years as a Sergeant in Hawaii. He joined Bleiers IGA in 1948 as Meat Market Manager and retired as co-owner in 1985. During this time, Calvin was Chairman of the Board of Air Midwest Airlines until it sold to Mesa Airlines. Calvin and Berneice were happily married 66 years and enjoyed life while traveling and spending time with their family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his honor to St. Jude Catholic Church or American Cancer Society. Calvins spirit will live on through all the lives he has touched here on Earth. It has been many years since I have seen Calvin, but I will always remember his great sense of humor and his infectious zeal for life! Im sure God will say ‘well done My good and faithful servant’ God and family were Calvins first and second priorities, Im sure. I can still hear your distinctive voice with that Kansas accent, Calvin. May you see God face to face! Our prayers for his soul and the entire family. Love John & Gerri Faes
