Esther Z. (Biddle) Buck

Buck, Esther Z. (Biddle), 88, died Thursday, March 10, 2005. Service 10:30 A.M., Thursday, Holy Cross Lutheran Church.. Esther was born August 24, 1916 in rural Crawford County, Kansas. Esther is preceded in death by her parents, John Biddle and Cora May Biddle (Higgins), her loving husband of 61 years, Morris W. Buck and grandson, Jeffrey Buck. Esther graduated from Kansas State Teachers College, Pittsburg, then moved with her family to Wichita in 1957. She taught two years for Central Lutheran School, and 25 years for Holy Cross Lutheran School. She retired in 1981. Esther is survived by two sisters, Ruth Swing, Orlando, FL and Catherine Pohl, Irving, TX; daughter, Sally Wilson of Wichita; sons, David of Kechi, KS, Lawrence of Swarthmore, PA and Clifford of Piedmont, KS; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial in honor of Esther will be to Holy Cross Lutheran School, 600 N. Greenwich, Wichita, KS, 67206-2633. Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Interment 1:30 P.M., Thursday, Piedmont Cemetery, Piedmont, KS.
