Sandra A. Martz

Martz, Sandra A., 70, retired schoolteacher, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Memorial Service 9:00 A.M., Friday July 3, 2015, Pathway Church (Westlink). Graveside Service is 10:30 A.M., Friday, July 3, 2015 at Resthaven Cemetery. Sandy and husband Bob shared 35 wonderful years together, during which they raised two children and played an active role in their local community. After retiring from full-time teaching to raise her family, in 1988 Sandy returned to work as a substitute elementary teacher, serving USD 259 until 2014 and becoming one of the most adored and highly requested substitute teachers in the city. She also cherished every moment of her eight years as “first lady of District 5”, while Bob served on the City Council. Preceded in death by husband, Robert; daughter, Ann; father, Herbert. Survivors: Son, Todd; Mother, Ruth.
