Marjorie Thompson Faris

Faris, Marjorie Thompson, 87, passed away peacefully in St. Louis, Sunday, March 10, 2013. She was born December 14, 1925 in Denver, Colorado. She grew up and spent her life in Wichita. After attending Wichita East High School, she graduated from Wichita State University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to play golf and bridge but her favorite activity was spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert Faris; her twin sister, Virginia Thompson; her brother, Richard Thompson; her sisters-in-law, Jackie Thompson Francis and Margaret Achilles Davidson; and her nephew, Larry Thompson. She is survived by her children, Bob Faris (Linda Bilsing) of Fort Collins, CO, and Cathleen Faris-Guyol (James Guyol) of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Genevieve, Robert, and Jacqueline Guyol; her nieces, Pat Carlson and Priscilla Thompson; and her brother-in-law, Paul Faris (Geneva). Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 16, 2013; Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 16, 2013, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Envision Foundation, 610 North Main Street, Wichita, Kansas, 67203.
