Tyrone Dean Artz, M.D.

Tyrone Dean Artz, M.D., age 73, retired orthopaedic surgeon and founder of the Kansas Orthopaedic Center in Wichita, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2015, following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted Artz and Marsaline Rawson. His survivors include his beloved wife and best friend, Kaelene; step-children, Iain McHugh (Jaime) and Abby Kocukov (Andrew); brother, Tyler Artz (Gail Cook); sister, Marcia Escue (Louie Segebart); grandchildren, Henry, Colin and Eva McHugh, Camdyn and Marley Kocukov; numerous nieces and nephews. Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 13 at Downing Lahey Mortuary West, 10515 W. Maple. A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 14 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 842 N. Tyler Rd., all in Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Botanica, 701 N. Amidon, Wichita, KS 67203.
