Dick Roland Jones

Jones, Dick Roland, 72, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Wichita, KS after a 6 month long battle with cancer. Born May 29, 1937 in Kansas City, Dick grew up in McPherson, KS and attended the University of Kansas where he earned his law degree. A retired attorney and certified financial planner with Waddell Reed in Wichita, Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and dear friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Dick is preceded in death by his parents Roland and Lillie Jones of McPherson, KS and is survived by his wife, Patty Jones of Wichita; sister, Kathie Jones Smith (husband Merlin) of Osage City; daughter, Julie Jones Davis (husband Bill) of Sugar Land, TX; son, Bo Jones of Leawood, KS; son, Chris Jones (wife Jennifer) of Leawood, KS; daughter, Kim Wormington of Wichita; son, Tim Humphrey (wife Suzy) of Thornton, CO; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 16th at Downing and Lahey, 6555 East Central, Wichita. Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, October 17th at 11:00 am at East Heights United Methodist Church, 4407 East Douglas, Wichita.
