Richard L. Black, 70, passed on August 5, 2019. He was a Service Sales Manager for Kansas Trane/Knipp Equipment. Preceded in death by parents, Leon and Lavon Black; brother, John L. Black, and second wife, Shannon Black, all of rural Bentley, KS. Survived by daughter, Wendy Black (Brock Bisard), and first wife, Virginia Black. Service, 11 a.m., Friday, August 9, at Downing & Lahey West. Memorial: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

I really enjoyed the years I spent working hand in hand with Rich. He was one of the most tenacious guys I’ve ever met. His mobility struggles seemed like hardly a challenge for him and his knowledge of specific, individual chillers located throughout the State of Kansas was phenominal. He could laugh at himself and his situation (needing crutches) but he got a tremendous amount accomplished. God Bless Him.
