Charles Hansen Schirmer

Schirmer, Charles Hansen, 83, retired McConnell Credit Union Executive, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010. Memorial service 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 18, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Charles served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was the founder of the McConnell Air Force Base Federal Credit Union. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry William and Asta (Hansen) Schirmer; second wife, Margaret; and brother, Henry “Hank” Schirmer. Survivors: sons, Scott Schirmer (Laurie) of Bel Aire, KS and Brook Schirmer of Wichita; grandchildren, Michael and Katherine; niece, Monica Schirmer Eshelman; nephew, Andy Schirmer; first wife, Yvonne Holland of Wichita. A memorial has been established with the Alzheimers Association, 347 Laura, Wichita, KS, 67211.
