Robert Pat Ayars

Ayars, Robert “Pat,” 55, beloved husband, dad, businessman, mentor, and friend, passed away on March 12, 2014. He was born in Lincoln, Neb. on March 14, 1958 to Ray and Alice Ayars and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1980. Pat is preceded in death by his mother, Alice. Survived by his wife, Vergia; children, Kate (David) Funk, Caroline Ayars, Remy Ayesh, Mark Ayesh, and grandson Carter Patrick Funk; father, Ray Ayars; brothers, Mike Ayars (Cristy Joy) and Doug (JoAnne) Ayars; sister, Lori (Bill) Luedtke. As a loving husband and true family man, he enjoyed fishing with his wife and friends, family time at Table Rock Lake, Husker football, and hunting. An eternal optimist and cheerleader, Pats smile and motivational words inspired generations. Family and friends will remember his bigger-than life persona, wisdom, and laughter with gratitude for all he gave. Pat not only touched the lives of his family and friends, but of our entire community through his work, most recently as President of Oxford Senior Living.
