Waldie, Dr. Wendell D., 85, Optometrist, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 22 at Calvary United Methodist Church. Survivors: wife, Methyl A. (Davis) Waldie; sons, David L. Waldie (Jane) of Wichita and Marc R. Waldie (Deb) of San Diego, CA; daughter, Jana Garrison (Robert) of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Jamee L. Sholtz (Jeremy), Shane F. Garrison and Kyle D. Waldie. Memorials have been established with Calvary United Methodist Church, 2525 N. Rock Rd., Wichita, 67226 and See To Learn Foundation, 1266 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66612. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.

My husband and I would like to express our deepest sympathy for the loss of your loved one. I remember when Jana and I were growing up and we had some father/daughter functions to attend,Dr. Waldie was a father figure to me since I lost my father at the age of 7. He filled a large void in my life and I will always have fond memories of him. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
