John Kevin Scholler
October 17, 2016
John Kevin Scholler
Loved by all who knew him, john was the youngest of six Scholler children. He was called home to heaven by the Lord he loved on Monday morning, October 17, 2016. Fittingly, "the last shall be first". Though he was born premature, John grew to be strong and resilient. John was admired throughout his community for endearing qualitiessense of humor, grateful, good friend, listener, companion and confidant. He was fun loving, a jokester, dog lover, and an incredible cook. He loved the holidays surrounded by his family. He worked for the Wichita Public Schools in Custodial services for 24 years. He also trained as a culinary chef in the mid-1990s but after graduating, John chose instead to become the primary care giver to his father for a decade. His love for cooking served his father, friends and extended family well. Despite his functional disabilities, including blindness, he was always the most comfortable in his kitchen. And he never complained. He even taught his nieces the secrets of the famous Scholler Christmas toffee. The sound of music (especially Percy Faith!) was always playing in his home. The old Hymns were also among his favorites and he loved singing along with them in his deep, baritone voice. The family takes great comfort in knowing John Kevin is reunited with a host of Christian ancestors, particularly his parents who preceded him in death, Gerald & Myeerah Scholler. Survived by sisters Jana (Ed) Rea, Rhonda (David) Mann; brothers, Mark (Sheryl) Scholler, Tom Scholler, Jim Scholler; 11 nieces and nephews and 6 greats. Memorial Service will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 24, 2016, at Central Christian Church Chapel. Memorials have been established with: Meals On Wheels, 200 S.
