Helen Augusta Quincy

Quincy, Helen Augusta, 99, died Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Midland Hospice, Topeka, KS. She was born November 22, 1905 in Ness City, KS, the daughter of Robert William Switzer and Bertha Zuehlke Switzer. Helen attended Ness County schools and graduated from Ness City High School. She married Paul Daugherty in 1925 and they lived in Wichita many years. Helen was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Thomas Hopkins Post. She held different offices in this organization including president in 1954-55. She also belonged to the 8 and 40 group. Helen volunteered many hours at the VA Hospital in Wichita and was employed there fifteen years. Paul Daugherty died in 1958. She married Floyd Quincy in 1962. He died in 1969. Her parents and her brother, Howard Switzer, also preceded her in death. Helen is survived by four step-children. A graveside service will be held at Wichita Memorial Park, Wichita, KS, 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 21, 2005. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
