Leo Gunzelman, 62, passed away at his home in Valley Center, KS on March 17, 2018. Born in Salina, KS on August 17, 1955, Leo was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and will be greatly missed by many. He truly loved his career and embraced his calling as an engineer after receiving his degree from K-State and later earning his MBA. Leo was passionate about and excelled at many hobbies, including wood-working, making furniture, stained glass, and restoring antique American cars. His is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Louise Gunzelman; his brother, David Gunzelman; and two nephews. He is survived by his wife, Debra (Schuler) Gunzelman; sons, Matthew and Michael Gunzelman; daughter, Erin (Andy) Garrison; granddaughter, Elise; sisters, Dorothy (Jim) Yost, Margie Ridder, Mary (Brad) Crumley, Katie (Doug) Bauman, Ruth (Robbie) Carpentier; sister-in-law, Karyn Gunzelman; and many nieces and nephews. Services in the Catholic faith will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church (3130 N. Amidon Ave., Wichita, KS) at 10:00 am. The Rosary will be held directly before the Mass at 9:30 am, with internment to follow at Ascension Cemetery (7200 E. 45th St. N., Bel Aire, KS).
