Melvin Barnes

Barnes, Melvin, 88, retired Chief Master Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force and district sales for Garden Wise in Denver, died Monday, July 2, 2007. Service 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 5, Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Melvin married Helen R. Ludwig, January 30, 1963. Survivors: wife, Helen R. (Ludwig) Barnes; daughter, Linda Loose of Leesport, PA; step-sons, Robert Bystrom of OFallon, MO and Ronald Bystrom of Riveria Beach, FL; 2 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 6 step-great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society, 818 N. Emporia, S-100, Wichita, KS, 67214.
