Grass, Dolores Alice, 89, homemaker and loving mother passed away at her home surrounded by her children on March 19, 2011. The Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 and the Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011 both at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was born in Kimeo ,KS on July 12, 1921 to Daniel and Alice Baird. She grew up in Marysville, KS and attended St. Gregorys Catholic School and graduated from Marysville High School in 1940. After graduation she worked in Topeka for the State Highway Commission and then worked for the Republican Party in the State Legislature. She became secretary to the first female Senator in Kansas. Dolores was a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Kansas Society Martha Loving Ferrell Chapter DAR. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dean Grass, infant daughter, Nancy Ann Grass. She is survived by 4 children, Mary C. Wilken (Richard), of Lebanon, Illinois; Janet L. Kellerman (Rick) ; Virginia A. Simmons (David) ; Warren G. Grass (Shelley) all of Wichita. She has eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Memorials have been established with St. Michaels Catholic Church Restoration Fund, 366 Wagon Train Rd, Greenleaf, KS 66943 and Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School, 8506 East Central, Wichita KS 67206. Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Rosary service 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church
