Nizar F. Kurait

March 19, 2018
I would like to thank all those who are here today in memory for Nizar. I would aslo like to thank all those who directly and indirectly assisted our family through prayers and support over the years.
Nizar Kurait was born in Damascus,Syria. Came to the USA and started his life here in the states 12 years ago. Nizar leaves behind his parents Fehmi Kurait, Mona Kurait. Older brother Samer Kurait, and his three younger sisters Nabila, Souher and Roula.
Nizar as many know, was suffering for many years, but what was so special with Nizar, even through his pain and suffering he always found the time to smile never letting anyone know he was in pain. He was extremely generous and always loved to joke. He left an imprint on to those who knew him, but Nizar never once complained about his situation. All Nizar ever thought of was to find his place in the world even throughout his sickness. Nizar never gave up hope. He was able to go back to school and finish multiple associate degrees especially one he enjoyed in architectual design, he wrote many short stories and was determined to overcome his sickness.
Hearing from his family and witnessing some of the miraculous recoveries myself, Nizar endured, from escaping death from a motorcycle accident that left his abdomen severely cut , run over by a car, running accidentally through a glass slab that left a deep cut into his leg, surviving a bleeding anuerysm which endured a 12 hour surgery, having his enlarged spleen removed and on top of all this Nizar was battleing cancer being paralyzed on his left side. Nizar has broken records in 911 calls and given over 30 last rites sacraments.
One would ask why or how could someone like Nizar, endure the suffering unimaginable to many. We look at the life of Nizar and ask the same question his disciples asked Jesus when he healed a blind man from birth. “Rabbi who sinned, this man or his parents that he was born blind?”. ” Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, ” but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”
We saw the works of God in many ways perpetuate in the life of Nizar. Nizar brought not only his family and friends but the whole church in prayer for healing during his many years of suffering, and we saw the many fruitful miraclous recoveries thoughout the years and the works of God displayed in him. Nizar would suffer his greatest traumas and accidents during lent or on Easter Sunday and his final departure of this life during lent. We ask you to keep Nizar and our family in your prayers and rejoice in Nizars eternal life in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
