Madrigal, Miriam Rose (Pruitt), 60, high school foreign language teacher at USD 394 Rose Hill, Rose Hill, Kansas passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at home. She was born August 21, 1954 in Independence, MO. Miriam married Tony Madrigal July 14, 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pleasant John and Norma Ann (Valentine) Pruitt of Wichita. She is survived by her husband, Tony; brother, Dr. Chris Pruitt, and wife, Ann, of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces, Kathryn and Anna; and nephews, Andrew and Benjamin, along with great-nieces; brother, Dr. Joe Pruitt, and wife, Diana of Golden, CO; step-children, Merry Evans, Jesse Madrigal, Steve Madrigal, Teresa Madrigal, Dan Madrigal, Jim Madrigal; 16 step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many friends. Miriam graduated from WSU and received a Masters degree in Spanish. She was fluent in six languages and enjoyed traveling which included visiting family members still living in Italy. Miriam used her musical and art talents to help teach students French and Spanish and to produce stories for young children. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 27, 2015; Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 A.M., Saturday, March 28, 2015, both at Church of the Magdalen.
