Wilmer Frederick Otto Schmidt

Schmidt, Wilmer Frederick Otto, 92, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015, in Wichita, Kansas. He leaves his son, Daryl Schmidt, and daughter-in-law, Diane; two grandchildren, Nolan and Nina Schmidt, all from Wichita. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Delores Schmidt and Wilma Luth, and many nieces and nephews. His wife, Dorothy Schmidt, preceded him in death. Wilmer served in the Marine Corp in WWII and then worked as an accountant at Nebraska Book Store where he retired. Wilmer had a passion for collecting antiques and refinishing furniture. He kept a beautiful yard when he lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, where old neighbors still hold him dear. He also enjoyed playing pinochle at Regent Park care home where he resided and was active until his death. Private family service to be held at Lincoln Memorial Park.
