William A. Skinner

Skinner, William Arthur, 94, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. William was born December 23, 1918 in Hutchinson, KS. He attended college in Emporia, KS and took night courses at Wichita State University. He worked at Boeing for 40 years before taking an early retirement at 62 years of age, with a break for World War II pilots training. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping - any outdoor activity in general. William was also active in the Boy Scouts at Plymouth Congregational Church where he was a member. Preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Skinner. He leaves behind his wife of 72 years, Elizabeth; sons, Thomas W. (Marilyn) Skinner of Alpharetta, GA, James A. (Lynn) Skinner of Perry, KS; grandchildren, William J. Skinner of Canton, GA, Karen (Brad) Botts of Overland Park, KS, Katherine Skinner of Atlanta, GA, Gina Skinner and Jamie Skinner, both of Lawrence, KS; 2 great-grandchildren, Ashley and Nikki Botts.
