Margaret Gasper

Margaret Helen Gasper passed peacefully on July 8, 2017. Margaret was born in Ashland, Kansas on November 19, 1929. Margaret was a very kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She will be missed by her family and her many friends. She had a beautiful voice and was a soloist in her church choir. She sang with the Choral Arts, Melodeers and at weddings and funerals. Visitation with the family will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 13, Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 14, Westwood Presbyterian Church. The graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m., at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington. Preceding Margaret in death were her parents, Jesse and Mabel Linn of Wellington, Kansas; her loving husband of over 50 years, Dr. John Gasper, and her 7 siblings, Iona Coe, Ruby Williams, Jerry Broin, Loren, Vernon, Harold and Forrest Linn. Margaret is survived by her 3 sons, Steven B. Gasper, John K. Gasper both of Wichita and Kerry M. Gasper of Topeka; 4 grandchildren, Garrett M. Gasper (Heather Kruse) of Overland Park, Logan J. Gasper (Bridget Jensen) of Mission, Amanda D. Mareda and Mieshell E. Gasper both of Wichita; 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
